Health Benefits of Avocados
Submitted by escada on Fri, 07/11/2008 - 07:30.Avocados originated in Mexico, or Central and South America, and were cultivated there by pre-Incan races of Peru, and the Mayas of Yucatan and Guatemala. The Aztecs called it aoacatl before the Spaniards changed it to ahuacate and aguacate, and it eventually became avocado in English. Aguacate and palta are names used today for avocado in Latin American countries.

Free radicals are ubiquitous and are constantly attacking your body from the outside (sunlight, pollution, electromagnetic radiation, etc.), and due to normal metabolism and living—attacking you from the inside. Free radicals are unstable molecules that through chain reaction cause millions of free radicals that damage your proteins, cells, tissues, and organs. They cause aging, degenerative changes, inflammation and disease. They cut your lifespan short.
